I'll be in san francisco and seattle the next few days and my new blackberry has these new micro usb slot and my old one is a mini. Is there a local place that sells these adapters somewhere in the city? Maybe a mobile store? I need to transfer the data from my old to new blackberry. I won't have time to buy it off the internet.

I'm not sure what you need - are you looking for something to connect both Blackberries to each other? Because that won't work, Blackberries don't have USB host functionality.

Didn't your new Blackberry come with the MicroUSB cable? Why not just sync the old one, then sync the new one with its own cable.

Not together but via the pc. I forgot the micro usb cable at home (won't be back for a week or so) and the bb software won't allow to copy data from the old to new blackberry over the bluetooth
I have 2 usb to mini usb cables as all my old stuff uses it but if they have a place where I can buy a adapter to convert the mini to micro locally that would be great

+1

I think that's your easiest solution.

In terms of buying cables, you'll be in SFO which is at the north end of Silicon Valley. You will have no troubles at all finding cables there. I doubt it will be any more difficult to find cables in Seattle.

I am assuming you are there for business and therefore staying near the financial district?

I entered the line below into Google Maps and found several cell phone (Cingular, Verizon, Spring) and electronics (Radio Shack) stores

electronics store loc: Market St & 1st St, San Francisco, CA 94111

Here are the addresses
AT&T, formerly Cingular‎
425 Market St, San Francisco, CA‎ - (415) 495-2220‎ - 0.1 mi E

Verizon Wireless
199 Pine St, San Francisco, CA‎ - (415) 984-0360‎ - 0.1 mi N

Sprint Store-514‎
388 Market Street # 105, San Francisco, CA‎ - (415) 677-0190‎ - 0.1 mi NE

Radio Shack‎
300 Pine St, San Francisco, CA‎ - (415) 986-8485‎ - 0.1 mi NW

Yup. The cable you want is common as dirt, and should be available anywhere either phones or computers are sold. Of course, you'll probably kick yourself for paying $29.95 for the cable in a cell phone store when you can find it online for $3 or less.
