Vindigo Problems

On both my XP SP3 machines it won't install.
On my SP2 machine, it's fine.
That means that once I get rid of the SP2 machine, I will no longer be able to re-install Vindigo if I need to.
By the way, the content is still being updated and I still think it's a good program.
Any clues?

That company, incidentally, represents one of the bigger missed opportunities in gadgetry. Years before there was an iPhone or a Yelp, they had a street-level database of food/dining/entertainment options. I don't know what happened, but the company's inability to exploit that head start is what the kids call an EPIC FAIL.

I used to love Vindigo during my Palm days, but once I switched to an iPod touch that was it for V. Too bad, it was a great program.
It was kind of buggy, I would periodically lose all my favorites which is one reason I dumped it. So it doesn't surprise me if yours cratered.

I used to use -- past tense -- Vindigo when I first got a Palm M515. But quickly developed a very low opinion of them over come CC billing issues. Experiences similar to this fellow's on here:

I remember the quote "scams, frauds and general shady dealings". That's how I remember this thread, to search for those words.
In fact, my experiences with Vindigo are what started me down the path of using virtual cc #s for anything remotely shady sounding, and for everything with an automatic renewal. Discussed here:

CitiCorp -- maybe not long for this life -- has a nice desktop app for their credit cards named "Virtual Account Numbers" that makes the process of using virtual/disposable account numbers almost seamless. I should use it more often.
