Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.1.11355/308; U; en))

This is not just strictly about the apple logo but I have noticed that many different tv shows will tape over or blur the computer logo. Why do they do that?

Do you mean on TV/Movies or in commercials? Generally it is done in those situations to pretend that they aren't endorsing a particular vendor (as though someone wouldn't be able to identify a MacBook without the logo). Also, the companies make a lot of money on product placement fees so if they aren't getting paid they may try to withhold the brand endorsement.

If you're talking about something else I have no idea.

Generally in those cases the manufacturer didn't pay up, so the producers blur out the logo. When you clearly see a logo (on any product, not just computers), that usually means the manufacturer paid something for the spot. Welcome to the post-TIVO world of obsessive product placement.

On a negative-connotation show like Cops, it may also be that the corporation specifically forbade the display of its logo.

I generally think that this is exactly right. Soft-extortion, is how I would describe it.
