Avg 8.0
With AVG 8.0 released, does that mean there is no more free version available? Only a 30 day free trial version before having to purchase a subscription.

Wow that was fast. A reply within one minute.
Thank you very much. |

The Free version of AVG 8.0 is different than AVG internet suite that others have been talking about and paying for.

I installed Avast!'s free version on an older laptop instead of the new AVG. I turned off everything except the antivirus, and it seems to work ok.
I am still mad at Grisoft for ruining a perfectly good product. :( |
You can turn off everything but the AV in the AVG free and it works just like AVG 7.5 IMO.

If you're happy with that, by all means, continue to use it. -David |

Keep in mind that $25 of that rebate is only if you can prove previous ownership in a different AV package.
Not too hard to do. I have parlayed such rebates into owning several AV/IS products. |
