record streaming video on Mac

Anyone know of any apps that will allow the recording of streaming video on a Mac. Video and sound. preferably free. thanks.

If the stream is a format that can be played through the Quicktime player (Quicktime or Windows Media) then the stream can be saved in the player after playback if you upgrade the player to Pro.

snagit does video capture as well now. Not sure what the format is though.
