Need Nokia e61 help in Korea
I have an unlocked e61 with an ATT sim card in it.
I am in S. Korea. Phone works fine, device SENDS email. Device cannot receive email Message returned is: Packet Data: Packet Data connection not available. I only use this thing on the rare occasions when I am in Japan (and now Korea) and forget what all needs to be set on it from one time to the other. I cannot find answers in downloaded .pdf op. instructions and of course att isn't going to help me. Does the fact that somewhere in there there are settings that reference "Cingular" with regards to the WAP, have anything to do with anything? Many thanks, |
Try calling ATT: 1-916-843-4685 (toll free for you). It could be as simple as a network problem, it could be a setting on your account.

What type of email system are you using. Microsoft Exchange? Blackberry Connect? POP? IMap? Do you have access to a wifi connection some place to try your phone on./ If so, temporarily change your access point to the wifi and see what works and what doesn't
|
In Messaging go to Settings in the menu
Choose E-mail Choose the account you're trying to use Choose Connection Settings Choose Outgoing E-mail Take a note of what is set for "Access point in use" Go Back Choose Incoming E-mail Check what is set for "Access point in use" and if necessary change it. |
Thanks very much to all who offered help.
At the end of the day nothing was working so I phoned ATT. While they did not understand how my sim got into an e61, they suggested i remove the battery and sim card, put them back in and reboot. I did and it works fine. It will never replace my Blackberry but it is functioning and I appreciate the help. |
