Sprint EVDO Sans Contract
ATT does not require you to sign a contract for bring your own equipment hook ups. If you take a laptop with a built-in EVDO card, is there any way to activate it with Sprint on a month-to-month contract.
|
Shouldn't be a problem at all.

Actually, I'm not so sure this is possible on Sprint for Data. AFAIK currently only T-mobile and ATT offer contract free stuff without equipment. Sprint does do month to month, but I always read that it was only for minutes, not data.

Although my data connections using Sprint data cards have generally been OK, my understanding is that you need a two year contract.
As to Sprint's cell phone service, about 90% of my calls are involuntarily disconnected. Beware. |

In 2003 - 2004, I a Sprint Data Card on their !RXTT network and they did let me go month-to-month. I paid about $10 a month higher for that honor.

Sprint will not activate your own equipment without a contract...period. http://www.sprintusers.com is a great resource. Check out the discounts...at a very minimum you should qualify for the 10% off savings.
My advice is to take over someone else's contract at http://www.celltradeusa.com Also, what laptop do you have that includes the built in SPRINT EVDO? I'm aware of Lenovo's Verizon EVDO but that is locked to VZW's service. |

Sony Vaios come with Sprint. Some also have Cingular, but the model my wife wanted came with Sprint.
