There's a new one coming out? What's the difference between the new one and the current one?
|
It's rumored to come out in the first half of November...

Not much of a difference. I'm waiting for a small laptop. |

That would require using Windows, though, which I don't think would be fair to inflict upon anyone! ;)

Big thing seems to be the new graphics chip, which is a quite a step up from the previous one.

Anyone who knows anything can install any operating system on any computer. Linux is a variant of Unix. (It's actually a kernel-out workalike.) OS X is a variant of Unix. The only difference between them is the Jobs interface. If you like his price/performance, knock yourself out. Mac hardware costs more than all others. |

Conventional wisdom that may have been true ten years ago, but which has been disproved by every objective* comparison, like versus like, done since Apple went to Intel chips. The difference today is always tiny and can be in either direction.

Those who continue to believe this don't make objective comparisons, but simply point to low-end Windows machines that have no Mac equivalents (Apple is not after that market) and say "it's cheaper than Apple."

That's true. If one of those meets your needs, buy it.

They were announced today, weren't they? I know I read it somewhere.
This is what I read. Not sure if this is what you were all talking about. It's a basic refresh. http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquir...hipzilla-fruit Everything looks updated on their web site as far as I can tell. -David |
