A very quiet upgrade.

From the stories above, it's just a cpu & graphics chip upgrade t the latest Intel spec?

No LED screen upgrade or a lighter, thinner (I also wish smaller) MacBook due to screen improvements?

Boy, me too!! Something really light in addition to being elegant.

Most Mac users don't buy a computer - they buy the elegant right-brained user interface. So if you want something light, buy the 920-gram ASUS and put OS X on it. No-brainer.

They switched to Santa Rosa. I think that includes the CPU plus the Northbridge (and possibly the Southbridge also). On the macbook, that includes the upgrade to the newer internal GPU. On the Macbook Pro, as you noted, they upgraded to the much better 8600M GPU.

That's why I said it was a basic refresh. Good news if you were about to buy one. Bad news if you just bought the old one.
