iPod battery replacement - sources?
So my friend replaced his iPod 2G battery with one of those from newertech.
He got a high capacity 2100mA and went from the US to India with no problem.
$&*@&%%&$#%&*%$#%&$ like 20 hours no problem of battery time.
Looking at my old iPod 3G in the corner, the only replacement I have seen is a 850mA which is like a 30% improvement over the original battery time. I have seen this battery from a reputable dealer for about $20 including shipping.
So I ask THE forum...who knows of other dark places on the internet where people speak of batteries and places where I can go to get 1100mA and higher???

I'd also like to know of anyplace to get replacement batteries for the iPod Mini -- I've had horrible luck with this thing. The only place I found doesn't provide batteries for the Mini I have. At the moment, the thing is totally dead following a charge using the iPod travel charger - I'm heading to the Apple store this afternoon, but any avenues to a better/different battery would be great (assuming they can repair it) .

I ordered an iPod Mini Super Capacity Battery - 720mAh from www.pdasmart.com. I was hoping to replace my original battery with one with higher capacity (the original was still fine). I actually get less time on the new battery than the original!!! Not sure what the explanation is, apparently all mAh are not equal. I have also ordered parts although not a battery from ipodmods.com and been very satisfied.

Supposedly you can get batteries on ebay...whether or not they are trustworthy...I got nothing. However, when my 3G finally died, I just bit the bullet and went to the Apple store to take advantage of their battery replacement program (I think it is $69). I figured they would crack it open and replace the battery. Nope...new ipod. Yep....NEW. Yeah, it was a new 3G...but still new.

I haven't used any of these, but am going to send my unit to the last firm to get my screen replaced.

Most everything on ebay and various places is an 850mA replacement which is a minor increase over the original.
I'll be purchasing from:
http://www.ipodbattery.com/ for 16USD + S&H and the place seems reputable.

There is another site that should be reputable and the only one that I have seen with an 1100mA battery. WOW WOW WOW! but its 55USD. Forget that.
