Wireless keyboard problem
I use a logitech wireless keyboard, connected to my docking station for my laptop. Today it stopped working. Ok, not a problem - needs new batteries.
Put in the batteries - nothing. Try again, get some typing but it did 2 or 3 characters and then became stuck on a key, even though the key wasn't depressed. it was rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr (forever) Try again - now nothing from the keyboard at all. Any ideas what is going on here? Is it pooched and I need a new one? It is about 2 yrs old, maybe a bit older. |

I think that the gyration wireless keyboards and mice have better range. We had logitech for the conference rooms at work and they had flaky reception as you moved > 10 feet from the receiver. The gyration equipment works well throughout the room.

Did you push the button on the bottom of the keyboard? I had to get my logitech bluetooth keyboard to rebind to the hub when I replaced the batteries. It was a pain to get it to rebind, but eventually it worked.

-David So I guess It's a new keyboard.... the 30days is up on the return policy at bestbuy. :( :( Any suggestions??? thx |
I have the logitech bluetooth desktop. I think I bought it OEM from newegg. It seems to work fine for me. There's a bit of a lag when you wake up the kbd or mouse, but other than that it's fine. And I guess a big plus is I didn't have to throw away the kbd when I replaced the batteries. :)

THe mouse works flawlessly, the diagnostic on the program says both are working no problem.

It was more than just the hitting the button. I had to finesse it somehow. Sorry, I don't remember the exact steps. (I might have had to remove the new batteries and put them in again. Not sure what else I had to do.)

I have been using wireless keyboards and mice for a long time. I get about a year out of them. the keyboards die, the mice die, the receiving units die. for a long time, I had two receiving units that worked. one on the mouse, one on the keyboard.
Just treat them as disposable items, and consider every day of the second year a gift.. |

Sounds right .. I think I had to push the button on the mouse cradle (which doubles as the bluetooth hub and charger for the mouse) and then push the button on the keyboard. Whatever I did, it wasn't as simple as it should have been.
