Thunderbird for E-mail
I have switched over to Firefox, thanks to info I got here a while back (I think from Doppy).
I am thinking now of switching over to Thunderbird. The issue I have is that Outlook doesn't really delete messages when I delete them, nor does it let me pass the deleted message to my eraser. I have searched the old threads already, but am wondering what the latest opinions are on Thunderbird, and the conversion to it from Outlook. Thanks in advance, M8 |
I'm happy with Thunderbird. It's free, and can co-exist with other MUA's. You might as well just give it a try.

the best tool you could ever have, only the second best to Pine!
(Pine is a text based email tool) I'd strongly advise against outlook. Thunderbird has much powerful search facilities and its more stable, less prone to viruses and and its free! |

I use Thunderbird daily and it's great. Never used Outlook.

Just started with Thunderbird. It has everything Outlook has and it is free!
I do have a problem with sending EMails because for some reason our company EMail server does not recognize my password from Thunderbird. I have to use the cludgy package they make us use to send things. |
I like it a lot, but at times it seems to eat a LOT of disk space. Worth cranking up the frequency of folder compression if you're on a laptop...
Much nicer than Outlook though! ^ |
I love Thunderbird, it's great, and FREE.
|
I'm sold! Thank guys ^

Two cautions about Thunderbird:
1) It does not yet sync with a PDA or Smartphone. 2) It can only store 4 phone numbers per contact, whereas Outlook can store dozens |
ANYTHING is better than Outlooks constant freezes, lockups and general clunky-assed operation. I HATE OUTLOOK!
