I checked this out late last night and decided that FedEx should be my preferred carrier out of IND.

This site is a great resource...and a great time-waster. Now to exercise self-control at work so I'm not watching it all day...

Now we just need wireless on the plane for when they remove the map for the damn IFM.

Does this website have the ability to track the flight in a real time manner - without having to keep entering the airline and flight number in? If so I can't seem to find it.

Well, there went that hour! Very cool site. Looks like it's still in Beta stage. i may need a 12 step program to get over this thing. ;)

Thanks for the link. It's amazing how there are always new ways to waste countless hours :)

The map of the flight should open in a separate window. It should keep refreshing with position changes, but if it doesn't just hit Ctrl-R.

(Keeping in mind that, per the site FAQ, there is a 6 minute delay on the data)

Very cool for the US but it doesn't work on the rest of the world. :(

I got it now!

If you click on the map it then opens in another window and it works :D

Now I wonder if it is the actual track of the flight OR just the projected track. I will have to ask a friend to find out.

I'm pretty sure the tracks (live and historical) are real, and not projections. After a recent flight from DFW-EWR, I went to the website to see the historical track, and sure enough, it had a big loop in it where we circled over Virginia for 20 minutes in a holding pattern. Very cool!

Great site!
Thanks.

And it is the only free site that I have found that allows you to track private aircraft using call letters.

It gives actual positions - clicking the 'en route' link next to status, you get minute by minute lat/lons and altitudes.
