Laptop carry-on troley question

I currently have a 12" powerbook and am about to upgrade to a 15". I have bought several different laptop bags and never really been happy with anyone of them.

I had a caselogic briefcase which I gave away.
Same with the caselogic laptop trolley
now have a wenger/victor inox trolley and am not that happy with it either. Better than the case logic but not good enough.

Have a travelon pleather briefcase I'm trying to sell. It is lovely though so may hang on to it. Returned another travelon to the shop as the lock came undone and after three days use it looked horrible.

I mostly fly when I travel so need something sturdy, protecting my laptop and accessories and hold extra stuff such as a change of clothes, toiletries and make-up.

I have checked every bag on e-bags but couldn't find anything I liked. Tumi site is down for maintenance. Am starting to think about stepping up a level in price tags and go for something more expensive.

Any ideas?
/E

Awesome bag but it is just a tad big for the new carryon luggage regulations.

Exterior Dimensions 17.5"L X 13.0"H X 9.5"W

Now what are we going to do?

Lazar's Luggage has a sale on last year's model Briggs & Riley laptop bags going on right now. I just ordered the BRW13 on Sunday (regularly $379, now $199). B&R bags almost never go on sale, so this once-a-year event is a good opportunity to pick up a B&R bag at a substantial discount. And the lifetime "we don't care how it gets damaged" warranty makes it a great value.

Pack it loosely enough so you can smush it to 6.29" in width?
