Ok. I've tried to do that, but haven't been able to figure it out.

Any tutorials online for this?

Why doesn't it show Word/Excel or any of my Adobe, Macromedia apps in the list?

Apple's support site has a section dedicated to using Automator, including tutorials and some FAQs.

You might also want to read/post in the Apple Support Discussions.
