T-Mobile has the cheapest BB only service (US). There are rumors that they have new rate plans coming out next week with the introduction of thier new phone/BB.

T-Mobile has given us some insight in their press release for the 7100t:

Additionally, T-Mobile plans to offer customers bundled (voice and data) rate plans for the BlackBerry 7100t, starting at $59.99, that are easy-to-understand and affordable - this means big buckets of Whenever Minutes and unlimited email, unlimited text and instant messages, and unlimited Web browsing*.
I'm guessing the cheap plan will have 1000 minutes and there will be a 1500 minute plan for $20 more.

I dropped by our local store today. They had one of the mock-ups behind the counter and I got to play with it. Very cool size -- I'm looking forward to playing with a working model on Thursday or Friday.

Does the current TMobile $39.95 plan include web browsing? It didnt seem that it did. From what I could tell of the pricing you would have to add unlimited internet to that plan for browsing. Also, in looking at the Verizon plan it seems to be $49.95 but it includes not only unlimited email but unlimited browsing. Again, havent looked into the plans in super detail but if my reading of these is correct TMobile might have the cheapest mail service but is more than Verizon (I cant believe I just typed those words in that order ;) ) for email and web browsing. Can anyone confirm this or explain how it is wrong?

From T-Mobile:

BlackBerry Unlimited E-mail
The BlackBerry Unlimited E-mail Plan is for customers who just want to use the BlackBerry's powerful data functionality, including unlimited e-mail, t-zones mobile information, and Web browsing along with 300 text messages for $39.99 per month. Voice calls are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis for just 20¢ per minute.
The one thing you don't get is unlimited text messages, which is an extra $10/month.

It seems like the new voice/data BB plans that will be offered with the 7100t will be about $20 cheaper than the current plans.

Great, thanks for pointing that out. I was definately wrong on this. I was planning on waiting until towards New Years to switch but I will definately keep TMobile in mind then. I will be interested in the new plans that will accompany the new device. I think that the Earthlink deal may have web access at $39.95 a month as well but I will have to call them to find out. The nice thing about the TMobile plan though is the international access. That would be very handy.

The web browsing is really slow on my 7230 w/T-mobile. No problem with speed on e-mails.

I've been using my BlackBerry 7230 in Europe for the last 6 months and it works great! T-Mobile is my carrier back in the US, and I roam on whoever it selects for me. I've used it in the UK, The Netherelands, France, Germany, and Switzerland and it's been brilliant. I think the cost at $15 a meg is pretty reasonable.

I think you should have success almost anywhere in Europe, as GSM is the standard here, and I believe GPRS connectivity is available almost everywhere. T-Mobile's web site can tell you more about GPRS roaming.

What do you plan on doing with it, what are your needs, where will your travel with it, do you need any special features like Bluetooth or voicedialing?

What kind of email setup do you use at the moment? Which Blackberry model are you considering?

I can't simply answer with a "yes" or a "no", it depends on a lot of factors.

Yes, it's correct ! You right !
I have buy this item with an auction, and I have paied It half of the original price ( it's new ! and last model ) so... I'm going to know if is a good item for who travel and if it works good ( like a phone, and for email ).

;)

Well, your first problem will be whether or not it's simlocked, then the second problem is for which operator it was made (devices from one operator will NOT work on different operators, even if they are unlocked).

Then of course the Blackberry won't do anything until you get the Blackberry service plan from your own provider...

Good luck!

Does the Verizon Blackberry browse at 1xRTT speeds? If so does this make a difference for browsing in real life?

The spec sheet for the 7750 (Verizon version) says that it works on 1x (not 1xRTT). Even so, Verizon's network is definitely faster than the T-Mobile GPRS network.

However, some tests done over at http://www.rimroad.com/ seem to indicate that it's not the network that's the slowdown, rather it's the browser. ReqWireless WebViewer, a third party browser, appears to render a page faster than the RIM browser.

Do you use it ?

From what I understand, the new 7100t from T-mobile might be worth the wait (coming out 9/30?).
Some folks are down on the keyboard....
