Hotmail 2000MB?

My Hotmail account went to 2000MB sometime early this month. Was this announced? Did they increase the amount/size of attachments that one can send and recieve as well?

Yes, they did.

Goldwater,

Presumably you have upgraded Hotmail. After keeping Hotmail accounts limited to 2 MB, Microsoft announced that standard accounts were being increased to 250 MB sometime this summer or early fall (mine is still at 2 MB, but others have already been upgraded.) At the same time, they announced that the upgraded accounts were going to 2 GB. Persumably, this was in response to Yahoo upgrading its free accounts to 100 MB and their paid accounts to 2 GB. Of course, this was likely due to Google's announcement of Gmail, with its 1 GB of free space.

Between gmail, hotmail, aventuremail, spymac, and yahoo, I think I have like 18gb of unused email space.

18Gb

If you set up autoforwards from account to account, I wonder how long that would take to fill up?

The 2 GB limit is for U.S.-domiciled accounts only, right?

I have already filled up 2 Gmail accounts with day to day email (not including spam).

I was going to use it as a backup mail system and for it's search engine, but since I found "Lookout" for Outlook I don't think I'll need it anymore...

This IMPORTANT email came yesterday from Comcast (my PA cable modem provider):

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As some of you may have noticed, Comcast recently raised the mail storage limit from 10MB per account to 250MB per account. Since Comcast provides up to 7 e-mail accounts, you are now getting 1.75GB of total e-mail storage. This storage is in addition to the 175MB of total Personal Web Page storage and unlimited photo storage through the Comcast Photo Center.
