Your best best is to call the ISP and ask if they can do forwarding of all emails to a seperate address. Any decent ISP should be able to do that. |

A related Blackberry question
I have a Mobitex Blackberry from Earthlink (through Cingular) and have been using it a couple of years. I use the Blackberry desktop redirect and have our exchange server send everything to the BB. I was considering switching to either TMobile or Verizon Blackberry. Does anyone have any comments or experience comparing those in terms of the functionality (Im assuming it would be the same) or the coverage (assuming it would be different but in what way)?

If you have an existing POP3 server then it should be fairly easy to setup a copy of all email so it goes to your regular account AND the Blackberry, but it depends on the kind of POP server. IMHO that is always the best solution as it's faster and more reliable. |
Now that Ive gotten it to work, I have a few more questions.
1) Every time I send an email out, I get a copy back to my Blackberry saying this is an email you have sent out. Is there any way to stop that? 2) If I am checking my mail on my Blackberry and delete something, how can I be sure that it is also deleted from the server. I dont like checking my mail on my Blackberry and then returning to the office (or checking my mail online) and having all the same emails sitting there! or what about vice versa, if I check my mail online or on my computer's Outlook Express, when I sign on to my Blackberry, all the same emails still appear there!! Any ideas? 3) Is there a junk mail filter I can put on my Blackberry? Thanks everyone! |
Cingular is planning on a scheduled "killing" of Mobitex over 2005... So be forewarned. We moved 300 users from the Mobitex network to T-Mobile. No issues. ATTWS or Cingular (GPRS) has slightly better coverage if you are in rural areas (I mean like middle of nowhere Montana) via GSM850 support on their devices... T-Mobile has much better international capabilities plus good coverage in the US.

As far as I know, UPS is still using Mobitex for their little portable package tracking terminals, too. Chris |

Do keep in mind of Verizon's coverage... alot of it in rural still drops to AMPS/TDMA. Their map isn't very obvious of this. When this happens, you lose Blackberry coverage.

Is it true that in order to have a web browser/Internet access on the Blackberry, you have to pay thousands of dollars to have some license or software for the device? Or does a web browser simply come free with it?
Thanks |
