Am I allowed an XP question?

Maybe not the correct forum...but the tech folks hang out here.

Error: Stack overflow at line 22.

(Which happens when I access the calender on NWA)

I have tried posting this question to several tech forums and no one has responded or can help me.

Just a stab in the dark, but it sounds like the program (the calendar application) is generating the error, not XP itself. I'm assuming that you don't receive this error with any other program, correct?

It happens on several web sites. I have checked MS Knowledge base but the only fix I foud applied to WIN 98.

Another random shot in the dark...

But try re-installing Java. Either MSFT's (if you can find it), or Sun's from www.sun.com just download the Java Runtime.

Like I said, shot in the dark, ya never know.

That's almost certain to be a program error, not an XP error. Something in the software is conflicting with the OS. Update the XP to the latest version (they may have written it for patches you haven't applied yet) and upgrade your java as recommeded.

But that's the result of the software, not XP.

Thanks for the replies....how do you update your Java? I only have XP recovery discs, not the full OS.

this is a BIG complaint I have aboue XP and how the OEMs ship computers without usable XP disks other than these worthless recovery CDs that require you to erase your hard drive in order to install some bogus early version of XP, reload all the patches and cr*p and then reinstall your applications and data http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/mad.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/mad.gif

Dump MS Internet explorer !

Loaded the new Firefox mozilla browser...and not only does it load FT in half the time, all the stack overflow error's have gone.

My Internet Explorer works fine - still, would it be prudent to download and run Firefox Mozilla.
Internet Explorer would still be on my PC, I just would not use it, right?
Next, some websites run only with MS Internet Explorer ...!?!

Yes, just leave IE on your machine. Outlook Exp is part of IE, so you may want to keep it for that reason. I am trying to find a way to toggle between the two browsers quickly.

I use Mozilla 99.9999% of the time, and IE only when absolutetly needed for some odd task.

Do you know a way to open a web site in a new browser window ?
i.e. You have FT open, and you also want NWA open, and the ability to switch between the two?

IE doesn't do tabbed browsing, I'd advise you to switch to Mozilla, I did and I've never been happier browsing!

Yes - I am using Mozzilla....it seems you can only open a tab from a link WITHIN the site....I want to open two different url's from two links on my desktop, and I want the first one to remain the same, not change into the second.
