I have a Targus air/auto power adapter for my laptop. The question I have is someone told me there is now an adapter that takes the regular 110/240 plug and plugs that in one end to this adapter and the other ends plugs into the empower / cig socket. Anyone else heard of this?

My current problem is that I have a Dell Latitude D series laptop that has a new power supply tip. The current Targus power tip (#103) I have does not work and they are back ordered. So I wanted to find another interim solution.

There is a smaller one, the IGO Juice, if I am not mistaken it is the one BA sells out of their STW catalogue on board, otherwise do a google search or select your favorurite online dealer, this is the one:

Thanks for that suggestion. I got my dad one when it first came out. I called IGO but they don't have a power tip for my Dell yet.

Dell just came out with their own AC/air/auto power supply for the D600. I just purchased one and can confirm that it will charge the battery--at least using 110 volts. It is larger and heavier than the IGO juice, but it does use the juice peripheral power cords for cell phones and handheld devices. I was pretty bummed out when I bought the Targus version of this and power tip 103. I found out the hard way on a 1 week business trip that my battery was not charging--what a hassle to have a completely dead battery.

Hi Mike, thanks for the link. It looks like what I need. Can I clarify what you said about using Juice's power cord on this adapter? It doesn't say anything about that on the link you showed.

Click on the "releated products" on the right hand side, they mention that they are IGO cables for the Dell combination adapter, obviously the Dell adapter is made by Igo...

This is by IGo as well... It's the higher wattage unit that IGo should *ALSO* be selling at some point.. (let's hope it didn't become an OEM only device for the higher wattage version)

Be sure to check the list to see if your cell phone or PDA is supported by the optional cable. I love my iGo Juice, unfortunately my Siemens cellphone is not supported

I can't say whether the Dell power unit is supplied by IGO or not. It certainly does not look like the IGO Juice--it is larger and heavier. It also does not have more power--it is only 65 watts. The documentation specifically states that it is not enough power to charge the batteries on higher power computers such as the 8500 or D800.

Also the cords are lighter weight than the IGO cords.

Another difference is that the cord between the power brick and the computer does not detach from the brick, so this power supply is only usable with Dell computers that use the same plug as the D600.

Another difference is that the peripheral power port is at the end of the cord where it plugs into your computer. This means that you can only plug one item in at a time. If your computer is plugged in, you cannot simultaneously recharge your cellphone, and vice versa. Thi IGO juice has the peripheral power port in the middle of the cord making it possible to power both your computer and your cell phone at the same time.

Igo has licensed their design and does a good business off their OEM products as well. This is using the PPS IP that is Igo patented. I actually deal with Igo on one of their other products....

I just read the specs and it looks like igo is 7.5oz and the dell one is 18.95oz??? Size wise it looks a little bigger, but is it really that much heavier than the igo?

I have the D600 laptop and I'm hoping that igo will come out with a power tip for this laptop. I really do not want to lug around such a heavy adapter when igo has a lighter one but missing the power tip.
