Win 10 Maps: Can it locate using a GPS?
I've just noticed the Maps function in Win 10 now offers downloadable maps (might have before, like on Win Phone 8 but didn't appear to last year). Just wondering if it can read/locate with GPS info?
Might be smoother and easier to use than MS Streets n' Trips and Autoroute, both of which haven't been updated since the 2013 versions. |

No wi-fi (a lot of where we're going is *really* remote) or tethered data.
I have a USB GPS device that works with the above-mentioned s/w (as well as some nautical navigation s/w). There appears to be a driver (turboirc - not free) that converts the data to something the current GPS standard that Windows uses (for security, reportedly) but I don't want to pay for it. I just like doing this: https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...35f766c5fe.png |
