VoLTE works on Verizon. Used it the other day to talk on the phone look up NFL game times. Its about time.
|
There are some posts on HowardForums that the T-Mo versions are, indeed, shipping unlocked. Supposedly, they're only branded "T-Mo" because that's the SIM in the box.
|
While screen size aids in ease of reading and watching even for large hands the device is a two device with the plus. Cant imagine the 128 gb being needed for a phone vs tablet. Form factor on 6 is perfect.

So does that mean you can now finally talk and surf at the same time? :)

You are right about the branding, since the GSM models are unified now I believe. My 5s was purchased from a t-mo retail store and I had to wait 40 days to get it unlocked. Both were unsubsidized. -David |
I was wondering, are the Verizon ones still unlocked right away like the previous iPhones subsidized or not?

Indeed, mine arrived unlocked, tested with my t-mo sim and my friends AT&T sim. Purchased from Apple.

In addition, buying the T-Mobile contract-free version from Apple also gives you an unlocked iPhone. |

Contract free is basically full price. Why wouldn't it be not unlocked?

So I purchased my phone on ATT NEXT; forgetting that I prefer an unlocked phone... anyone have an experience paying off the ATT contract in full and getting the phone unlocked.... also does that qualify for 5x from Ink? thanks

Dual Sim- IPhone 6
Does anyone use the dual sim adapter (any brand) to have 2 providers on Apple 6?

Yeah - as the above poster implied, just because it makes sense doesn't mean phone companies don't take that opportunity to get their claws in deep.

Did you buy it from a physical Apple store or ordered the T-mobile iPhone 6 online from Apple store?
I was surprised that my unsubsidized 5s that I bought at a local t-mo retail store last year came locked, but I was able to get it unlocked in 40 days. There's a checklist online for the details of what conditions you have to meet for them to do the unlock. But since you can order it online from Apple or take your chances at an Apple retail store, and have it delivered unlocked, the only reason to buy it from t-mobile unsubsidized is if they have the one you want and you can't or don't want to wait. Having been there once, I wouldn't do it that way again. Dealing with their CS for my $30 monthly plan was a bit of a hassle, it took 3 attempts to get it unlocked and I was clearly eligible. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I didn't have to go through that again. -David |
Okay I finally made it to the Apple store to look at the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in person. The 6 looks so small. My wife has the 5s and I expected the 6 to look a bit bigger but it is really barely bigger than the 5s. The 6 Plus is exactly the same size as I expected and it is pretty much identical to my Note 2.
I don't think I could downsized to the 6. It is just too small. Now with the reports of the 6 plus bending, I am not so sure about getting 6 plus. I put my Note 2 in the front jeans pocket. Maybe I should stay with the Android phone and wait for the new iPad Mini to be announced in October. |

Just out of curiosity: why mix platforms? I'd rather have both Apple or both Android. Mixing seems to dilute the advantages of either platform.

Ah ok then that makes sense. My wife is an iPhone and iPad user, but my daughter and I use Android. She has to conform to US. :D |

Most of my jeans have deep front pocket, so I think I will be okay. When I am sitting, the phone is actually pretty straight. |
Bendgate

Isn't this bendgate old news? I feel like there were talks of the iPhone breaking in people's back pockets since the first generation. Is it the skinny jeans and boney butts putting too much pressure on the phone to make them bend?
I think this is WAY over blown. |

I think this is WAY over blown. As a comparison I've been carrying my similarly sized Note 2 in a front pocket for nearly 2 years without issue. |
Phones of this size were never intended to be in one's front (or back) pants pocket. I wish people would take personal responsibility for their own stupidity.

People carry their phones in their pockets. That's normal use and the device should be able to withstand that. i'd make an argument that sitting on it is not necessarily normal use, but front pocket carrying certainly is. |
For jeans, it has to be a certain size to fit a phone which is that big in the front pocket in the first place. Do the average size of jeans worn by people have pockets big enough?
|
So what should we all do? Use those super-cool belt holsters?

Of course, I don't make functionality choices based on perceived "coolness" so YMMV. Regards |

I'm reserving judgment at this point, as I've come to notice that Apple, at this point is almost always "targeted" at the launch of every new product with people who desire to embarrass the company and "catch" them with something. So I'd like to see more information before passing judgement. However, having said that, if these cases are true, it is indeed very disappointing. I struggle to believe a company of Apple's size, market share, and customer base doesn't do common "torture testing" of devices that should surface issues such as this much earlier in the development process. I use heavy duty cases on my phones in this price range. My phone goes in my stuffed cabin bag or in screening checkpoint bins too often to last very long without such a case. And the good condition (due to great case protection) after a couple of years of use helps provide for reasonable resale value. I can't imagine having a 6plus let alone sticking it in my pant pockets, but obviously others do find it part of their normal daily routine. Doing so without a case is what many people seem to do. |

Anyone know if the dock for the 5/5s is compatible with the 6/6 Plus or not and is the connector reversible as they say or is it still the same?

Plan is as cheap as chips: $10 a month for unlimited talk and text (sprint), wifi data. |
