Any app that stores and monitors all confirmed reservations for changes? Would need to scrape CheckMyTrip, ViewTrip, VirtuallyThere as well as airline websites for direct bookings.

WorldMate will do it as well as TripIt mentioned above. I used to use both of them but now have just moved to using the airline or hotel apps and that has worked out better for me.

TripIt does not monitor all confirmed reservations for changes.

Seems to monitor mine,

TripIt monitors flights details.

TripIt does not monitor your reservation, does not daily scrape the website of CheckMyTrip, ViewTrip, VirtuallyThere, UA.com, AA.com, etc. If your reservation is changed with a new flight, for instance, TripIt will be unaware.

^^

And it's the reason I canceled my TripIt Pro subscription.

I let them know why I was canceling and they seemed completely uninterested in addressing this significant limitation.

Not even a "we'd love to but the airlines won't let us" or anything--at first, it was a complete non-comprehension that it's even an issue, and finally after half a dozen exchanges with them via email, Facebook, and Twitter over the course of a couple of years, they finally said they'd forward my suggestion on to their product engineers for consideration. I'm not optimistic and will not recommend their service until they resolve or at least address this.

It's almost as if the people who developed TripIt are not frequent flyers themselves. They certainly have zero tie in with the FT community and no interest in joining, which is odd, since their target audience and our membership are a near-100% overlap...

I believe Kayak Pro does at least some of this.

Colin Jun 25, 2014 5:26 pm

No, it does not. Kayak Pro tracks flights like TripItPro, not reservations.

Ok, understand the difference now.

As an example of the difference, I received a push notification from TripIt advising me to check in for my MUC-YYZ flight tomorrow.

I changed that flight to a different date weeks ago (I'm not even in MUC or even Europe now!) but I had a brief moment of panic when the notification appeared before remembering I had indeed already changed it.

I assume the 3 GDS websites and all the airlines would have a fit if an app started scraping reservation details, like many airlines have had a fit with AwardWallet for mileage details scraping. However, don't know why no app developer has tried, as it's rather cheap to create an app.

I love worldmate for this. you email all your reservations (car, hotel, flight) and it will track them for you. it has a calendar sync feature but I don't care for it, it creates a new calendar on outlook for you. It may work well for the iphone but I have not really tried it.

Besides tracking all your travel and sending you reminders, the really useful feature for me is the flight monitoring. It's $9.99 per year (or free for 90 days every time you book a hotel room with them). I find it way more reliable than the Southwest app (which I find useless for tracking flight status). Delta's app is a way more reliable now, but Worldmate is usually on point. I usually split my itineraries between southwest and delta so Worldmate helps me feel grounded, so to speak.
