or take it to a local cell shop. they probably got a cutter there.
so, YMMV for sure. Trust me, it's EASY! We all learned to cut along the lines in like grade school, right? |
Well I decided to buy a cheap Chinese cutter and just cut the SIM using that. Amazingly I am able to ring myself on it, I have not tried texts/data but at least people will be able to ring me!

If you're in the States, make sure your phone is "locked" to the right carrier before using any minutes or texting. Choose the USA profile in the Toggle Options SIM menu, and verify the network shows as "toggle". The SIM is supposed to do this automatically. It worked for me in Europe but I found it to be unreliable in the States.

good job.. I continue to really like the benefits of this SIM. I just sent the phone to my sis who was in Spain and Germany for a few weeks. I put on 1GB for 25$ for her, and with the USA number anyone in the USA (she actually just forwarded her USA number to the toggle USA number) and all calls went there, seamlessly and without any cost. What I found new (maybe it was there before) but even calls to the UK number for VM pickup, were free.
She didn't come close to using the 1GB I put on the phone and it meant she had a spanish number to give her friends in country for coordination for pickup, calling for reservations, everything and one didn't have to do anything new (get sim, give credentials, etc.) I did similar last fall for nephew, he was in UK, Switz, France, Spain, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, and I simply managed getting him numbers when he was going to travel (done easily on my phone when I was out and about) and it was the same experience. So, from a features for this type of travel it really can't be beat. Bummer was Austria isn't included, which is odd.. coming up soon, Vodaphone with their 40 countries free roaming MAY provide a better option, but having the USA number on the device and being able to text someone and have them call me ANYWHERE (not having to have wifi for VOIP callings) is pretty priceless. |
You might want to look at Three Feel at Home instead of Vodafone who are only jumping the EU free roaming gun. But that will not solve the USA number issue.
And yes, the supposed automatic roaming of toggle has never worked for me in a country where I am able to explicitly select it in the list of countries in the SIM toolkit. Odd. |

I've found some unannounced price 'enhancements'. Examples using local numbers: UK>UK and Swiss>UK voice calls are now 7p/minute - but UK>Swiss and Swiss>Swiss landlines are still 3p/minute.
I checked this morning: UK>UK voice calls now 3p/min for landline and mobile Swiss>UK 3p/min for landline and mobile UK>Swiss landlines 3p/min, 9p/min mobile Swiss>Swiss landlines 3p/min 9p mobile Not a comprehensive review, just the ones I use most. |

Not quite sure why, possibly because roaming within EU/EEA is about to become surcharge-free:

Every 120 days when I use my Toggle SIMs to keep the accounts alive, I receive texts telling me how much calls and texts will cost from the USA. The numbers are always wrong.

Did you check that on your statement or on the website?

Does anyone know what will happen with toggle pricing once European data roaming laws and pricing change this June 2017?

I occasionally have a look at Toggle's site to see if they've changed anything. I think it's been three years or more since they've updated it.
|
My assumption is that they will charge UK-UK rates. I am waiting for someone to answer their chat now (it says they are online but this is toggle we are talking about). But I am not holding my breath on anyone answering or being able to provide an answer when they do.

Well it seems as if the EU you roaming agreements may have broken toggle completely. The roaming data packages are no longer showing up on their website and there is a note at the bottom of their regular U.K. Rates page that says that you can roam And simply pay you as you go pay rates for calls text and data, with no additional charges. Whatever that means. It seems that one will be paying pay as you go usage charges for things like data, which are usurious.
So of that is the way it's,going to be for me at least it is pretty useless. |
