I first saw that socket in a hotel, I think it was the JW Marriott in Chandigarh India. I thought it was brilliant. Worked well for me with all my devices.

It's pretty common in Asia to have a mix of random sockets all around the house. Sometimes US and European sockets on the same wall. So i suspect the universal socket would be easier to get installed there.
But IIRC the wonpro sockets are pretty pricey too. I tried to get a power strip of them for the office and they were like $30 or more. Obviously we could afford one but it didn't make sense to bother since we could just keep getting adapters for less. |
Getting a power strip with these multiplugs costs no more or less than "standard" ones in countries where they are sold. Most of my powerstrips around the house are of this type and I generally pick them up.......almost anywhere in Asia or the Middle East, a strip of 6 has never cost me over $12 or so, in China they start at around $4, but I have never gone for the cheapest.....
