ATT in Yosemite

OK, I don't understand this. I am certain some people will. I use a SIM card from a company called Red Pocket who use the ATT network. If I put their SIM card in an ATT branded phone in Yosemite I get 4/5 bar reception. If I put the same SIM card in an unlocked, quadband non-ATT phone (it happens to be a dual SIM ZTE V790) I get no reception. This only happens in Yosemite. It is fine everywhere else in CA so far. My curiosity is killing me so if anyone can answer this it would put me out of my misery !

The ZTE phone is not quad band. It doesn't support GSM 850, which is likely what AT&T would use in a thinly populated place like Yosemite. And the ZTE phone doesn't support the North American 3G bands that AT&T uses, so it won't get 3G service in the USA either.

Marvellous! I thought it would be something like that. I only require 2G when I am in the USA anyway. Thanks !
