My criteria for a weather widget was...

* Display current weather and five-day forecast in a nice-looking widget
* Be able to access any WUnderground weather station

Out of all the free ones I used (including the ones listed in this thread), none of them met the second criteria. BeWeather Pro did.

Granted, if I want more detailed weather (i.e., 10-day forecast), I need to use WeatherBug Elite (offered for as an AFAOTD) or Weather Channel.

As an aside, why in the world do people need a big, honkin' time display on their weather widget when there is a clock already in the upper-right hand corner of the phone?

1. What is WUnderground station?
2. Need the clock cuz I never noticed it - till you just said it! Wow - can't believe I missed it!

http://www.wunderground.com

Most weather stations are maintained by individuals, but equipment and setup must meet certain standards to be included.

In my zip code, I have a choice of 13 weather stations to get my weather data from, including one in my neighborhood.

With WeatherBug, Google Weather, or Weather Channel, I have about three choices in my zip code, none of which are located near my house.

I also have a widget for my in-law's town in Sweden. WUnderground gives me about 10 choices, and I picked weather station located closest to them. With the other apps, they don't tell me where they get their weather from.

And, as an aside, how can you not like the meteorologists they hire? (Link 1, Link 2, Link 3) ;)

Another thing I just noticed with Fancy Widgets is: It looks just Sense which is great as I'm used to that (I also have HTC ThunderBolt) ... I liked the animated wallpaper included with Sense that showed the weather on unlock (if it's raining, it rained and did the windshield wiper, etc.) Anything like that with Fancy Widgets?

Precisely the same reasons for not using the stock HTC Sense Weather/Clock and this instead and it's very similiar if set to 4 by 2 (I opt for 4 by 1 without the clock) The animated Sense wallpaper that interface with my HTC Droid Incredible 2 doesn't work with Fancy Widgets, AFAIK.

Your earlier link is correct, and the unlocker is just $2.69 to access more options & features in customizing the homescreen. For my purposes, the free one is just fine - been using it for about 9 months now & developer continued to update/enhance it.

I am a big fan of WeatherBug - I have the paid version from when it was an Amazon Free App of the Day. You have several choices for the widget and the radar is really nice.

I recommend Moxier World.

Why?
- view the weather in 3 locations at a time. (unlimited in the app, 3 on the widget at ay given instant, rotates.)
- shows the local time at those locations too.
- configurable widget update frequency
- free

modded/transparent version link

Another vote for WeatherBug Elite from me. I got it free from Amazon as well, but it's become one of those apps that "I would have paid for had I known how awesome it was."

Check out today's Amazon Free App of the Day - it is a weather one.

BeWeather Pro, hands down. I've only paid for about three apps on my phone (the rest are free apps or via promotions), and this was one of them.

BeWeather Pro was the only weather app I found that used all possible WUnderground feeds, so I could select the weather station located in my neighborhood as opposed to one 12 miles away.

I got BeWeather Pro, but it doesn't update

Simi Clock is a good minimalist clock/weather widget.

Definitely send an e-mail to support for help. As long as it's during their normal business hours, they respond very quickly.
