Firefiox (beta) for android phones.

What's your opinion about Firefox for android, beta?
After trying two phones and returning them, I have finally plunged and got a smart phone-T-mobile Galaxy S, with Gingerbread 2.3.6 for good. I know there are better phones, but my budget is limited. I got the cheapest plan ($10 per month for 200 MB), which did not qualify me for the $50 rebate, after which, the phone would have been good, but T-mobile made it attractive in other ways on account of me being a longtime customer in good standing.

I downloaded Firefox for android, beta. It's rather slow and a data hogger. I have set it to run only when the phone is on WiFi. I was able to install ABP add on with it and eliminate adds on FT.
Speed and data hogging, what are other cons? I like having a familiar browser. What are the advantages of Firefox versus the stock browser ( not sure what it's called)?

Dolphin

Try the Dolphin Browser instead. Seems to be the best and most used browser on Android. There's even now a version for iOS.

Thanks. Can you add addons to block ads?

There are tons of plugins and extensions available for Dolphin. Check it out on Market or google it.

I found Firefox to be very clunky and not all that great on my phone. There was something that annoyed me with the Dolphin Browser that made me get rid of it (can't remember what now). The stock browser works fine for me.

+1 - I tried Firefox and didn't like it (although I think it's ok with Win7). Dolphin is what I usually use on my Photon.

+! for Dolphin. It's a stable, fast browser.
Plenty of addons.
