iPad 3 rumors seem to be heating up, with the launch being seen as imminent.

Even if you don't end up buying one, it will probably influence the designs from other vendors, which will probably release their own updated products in the spring.

Keep in mind that Lenovo's update cycle is long so I wouldn't expect a new Thinkpad Tablet 2.0 to be available until at least Q3/Q4 of this year. They tend to announce things and then take their time bringing them to market. They did just announce that the ICS (Android 4.0) update will roll for the tablet in Q2.

P.S. I run IT for a Lenovo-based design firm, so I naturally like the brand and their service... But this would be a personal purchase. I have a Kindle Fire and while I like most things about it, I dislike the lack of cameras, external storage and access to the Android Market.

If someone was in the market now, I'd tell them to wait a few more months when all manufacturers will have quad-core tablets.

LVO TP Tablet

With some exceptions we spec TPs for mobile so I'm a bit biased as well, but mechanically it is probably the best build I have seen. Not the fastest and with quad core machines coming from others soon its likely to fall further behind. Had some stability issues with our first batch, that seems to be resolved. $330 isn't bad but I have seen the 32GB open box or refurbed for that price or less, so it pays to shop around.

Biggest advantage is the build and support; lots of other tablets will never see ICS. If you are looking for cutting edge gaming machine, I'd wait for a quad core, if you want something durable and usable today, you could do much worse.

Cheers

Check out the Pandigital Super Nova

Didn't mean to abandon my thread like that but I wasn't expecting it to stay active this long.

For those still interested, I finally went ahead with a Transformer Prime (managed to snag what was litterally the last one in the city!) and so far I am happy.

My unit's GPS is DOA but I knew that going in and frankly since I carry 2 smartphone that already have that capability it is really not a big deal. Wifi is good and so is battery autonomy and speed.

It also seems to be very well supported both by a developper user community and by Asus itself (they messed up a patch and fixed it inside 1.5 week).

Despite the reported bug I still think it was a good purchase and who recommend it to anyone. Know I just need to find some extra time to play with it more and figure out what are the must have Android applications.

Cheers!

I also just got the Prime and I love it. Very fast, nice interface and with the keyboard docking station I don't need any laptop to carry around. It's lighter than the xoom.
I have no issues with the wifi.

Can't fault my Samsung 10.1 tablet. Complete sync with MS Exchange. USB tethering for rapid file transfer.

Upgraded to 3.2 out of the box. Plenty of apps from Android market.

Great for movies on flights.

Just got the Nook Tablet. On sale for $199 last week. Upgraded from my Nook Color. Nice upgrade.
For 200 bux, I'm amazed. It's a dual core, and has plenty of memory. If you wanted to, I guess if it were rooted, you'd have an awesome Android tablet for the money. But since I'm an avid reader, I like it with the B&N Bloatware installed.
