That gives me hope! Are you using a Bluetooth dongle or the built in bluetooth?

You clearly know more about the technical aspects, but my Jambox connects to my Win7 machines without issue...

When Windows 7 launched, none of the Bluetooth stacks had Bluetooth stereo, which is why all the posts you'll find online about it are from 2009. Now, almost all decent machines will have it. If you have up to date drivers, A2DP (the system used for stereo music) should definitely be there.

I too have Jam Boxes working on several Win7 machines. As Scott C indicates, I think most of the issues were caused by machines that had old BT stacks that didn't support the A2DP profile. While The JB is a pretty new produce, they are being connected to lots of machines with old driver sets.
On a related note, the JB makes a pretty decent speakerphone too. |
I just stumbled across this review of the Logitech Mini Boombox. Bluetooth speakers at $100 less than the Jambox or the Soundmatters speaker.

Almost forgot to give an update on this.
The Jawbone Jambox was very well received. Evidently he was looking at it in the Apple store when I got my MacBook Air (of course I didn't notice). Anyway, for something so small, the sound is rather incredible. Worked without any issues from 2 different iPhones, an iPad, and a MacBook Air (I had never used Bluetooth from the MBA before). We played around with using it as a speakerphone for the iPhone, and it worked well for that too. But it really is great for sound from any of the devices we've tried so far. |

Thanks for the review. I have $150 credit from the Up band coming my way and will use it for one of these. It looks cool and for the size I figure it will be nice to have around.
I forgot to mention that we haven't yet tried it with a Windows machine. I don't think we don't have any with Bluetooth installed. But I'm sure that will be coming (either a Bluetooth adapter or a new laptop :p) |
Quality of speaker phone?
How well does the speakerphone work together with an Iphone?
I am considering getting a Jambox to use with my Iphone at my home office and on the road. |

It one for my wife and she loves it.
The first unit didn't charge correctly but I was sent a new one and all is well. She primarily uses it with Pandora but has no problems as a speakerphone. |
Something worth noting: the Bluetooth produces audio lag, which means it's than optimal for watching video.

It seems like the conference call function is not very good. Think I will look for another product for my conference call needs.
