Hmm seems less than ideal. I just mended the one here, so we'll see if that does better than the duct tape for this trip. After that I'm tempted by the outdoor products basic, although I might htink about the heavier duty ones for more all purpose use.

Samsonite Tote-A-Ton.

I bought one under severe duress and I never travel without it now.
It weighs, maybe a pound folds down into a small travel pouch, the size of a GQ magazine and will hold A LOT!!! I mean 32 kgs, no issue, and I paid $11 for it!!
Yes, its crude, but, how wrong can you go?

Also an interesting option. I guess it's the choice between round and rectangular. And how big I actually want.

I realize that we no longer have a regular duffel around anymore and haven't missed it. Until we started packing for our next trip. We expect to return with significantly more items then we leave with. In the past we've done this by stuffing a fairly simple duffel type bag into our main suitcase. But I could use some recommendations.

I follow exactly this strategy. Unfortunately I found mine from a sidewalk vendor in India. You don't want it to have too much quality or too many features, because those do increase the bulk. Mine lays flat at the bottom of my suitcase, is often used as laundry bag in overseas stops, and can be checked on its own if needed. Obviously anything valuable or fragile stays in the main bag. The duffel is mainly for clothes and such. So far it has survived several trips
