Can you sign up a gym for a month?

I want to sign up to a gym for 1 month while im in austrealia,
is it possible?

I would call conveniently located gyms and ask if they would do a one-month membership for a foreigner there temporarily.

Agree w/ what dhuey said. I also know someone (not in Oz) who was going to be on a 2-month assignment & went to the very well-equipped fitness center in town where was assigned & got them to agree to a 2-month membership.

I'm sure, as others have said, they'll be happy to. There's a few around with no lock-in contracts but not being a gym-freak like many of my friends, I can't recall which.
