Oh. So that's what happened. I also arrived on the 4th and when I went to my hotel and checked my passport I saw the arrival card left behind in my passport. I thought the officer forgot it.

FYI - I left Thailand a few days early unfortunately, but no problem going through security. No TM6 asked for, nor required. Just passport and ticket, took fingerprints from both hands and photo and passed my passport/ticket back to me.

Arrived today. On the plane the flight attendant said no longer requires. Saw some others in the immigration line that had them but perhaps they also had visa on arrival rather than waiver. Felt odd but nobody asked for the form.

Agreed. Have come in twice now without the card and it works fine.
Quite the change in a fairly short amount of time. Going from ASQs and Thai Passes and Insurance Policies to the current situation, where I just hand my passport over, scan my fingerprints, and get stamped in.

If no arrival card, it's better than normal :-)

there is actually still TM30 (for normal tourists filled out online by hotels), which is more accurate about whereabouts of foreigners...big brother is still watching you...the info about whereabouts in the arrival card were redundant and probably not even key into the system...

Looks like they have just extended the suspension until 15 October.

I wonder what the reasoning for not making it permanent is.
