Help: Thai reservation website issues
Hi guys,
Hope you here can help me I made a reservation on thai website for a DPS-BLR via BKK return flight next january 2020 I needed business class and the system gave 2 options to choose from: COACH or BUSINESS CLASS Take the business class choice, filled with my details and paid the price the system asked to me When I received the electronic ticket I found the legs DPS-BKK-DPS had booked in B class that is a coach fare, but I had only 2 choice at the reservation moment, and I wanted all the legs in business class!!! Is there any of you could help on this situation? Customer service told me is not their problem and if i want all the legs in business class I had to pay more... when I asked the total they were not able to tell me but gave me a Bali office email to speak to... Thanks in advance for your help |
It seems you did not carefully check each sector to ensure the cabin classes were what you actually were seeking before you purchased the ticket and entered into a contract. This is an unfortunate lesson for you I am sorry to say.
I would suggest looking to just cancel the ticket and get a refund, less the cancellation fee. Then making another booking with THAI or another carrier that meets your requirements. A refund might take 4-8 weeks to be redeposited. You could try an engage with THAI to pay the fare difference between you current ticket and one that has business class on all sectors. There is probably a ticket change fee of around US$100-$150 in addition to whatever the fare difference might be. |
The problem is that on the italian version of the thai airways reservation website you only have 2 options, something like general economy or business class, and only after the payment you'll discover you are not in business class all the legs...
In the global version you have more options, like combi/flexi/full flexi... |
I would suggest you talk to their Milan office again and purchase a more expensive ticket directly through them.
Then they may be willing to ask Manager to waive the penalty refund fee of your original ticket purchased online. give it a try..... |
oh...you need to check what you buy before clicking on "purchase". sad but true.

The initial office you spoke to, was that in Milan as well? If so, I would suggest to try calling the Bangkok reservations desk (through Skype?) - I have always found them very helpful when it comes to J class bookings so you may be lucky there.

Can you please confirm that you booked through Italian website for route DPS-BKK-BLR?
So the fare would have been sold in IDR currency and not EUR? And you say there were limited fare selections available? The range of fares originating in one market may not exist in another. For example, fares departing Australia typically offer more fare varieties than fares from New Zealand. That sucks, but that is what THAI has decided to sell. It is possible that fares ex-Indonesia to India have some limitations. |

Thai Airways Italian site tells me when there's a mixed cabin itinerary This is what I got from the Thai Airways website. Yes the only two columns are Economy and Business, but as soon as you select an option from Business, it does flag that it was a mixed cabin option. |
As you can see, you are booking on a generic business class... no mention of the kind of fare neither if there are some legs in other class

Didn't have that until I paid the price...
but anyway... I'll cancel the ticket and reissue another, that's not the point... I only think tech has to be clear for customers not so weird... but my 2 cents... |
