ROP system upgrade

Good news!

This system upgrade will result in downtime of all Royal Orchid Plus website and Call Center services, including account access and
Award redemption during: 31 May 10:00 UTC (17:00 BKK) to 03 June 05:00 UTC (12:00 BKK)

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that may occur and thank you for your patience during this system upgrade.
Upgrading the "loyalty system" to "further enhance a wide range of services" suggests a website overhaul. Hopefully more web based functionality and better reporting of mileage, status and other benefits available (eg. GUPs/PUPs yet to be used).

As of our local office here in Germany they expect some changes concerning the qualification period (assessment every three months instead of calendar years and possible re-introduction of mileage accrual for lower booking classes). Let's wait, hope and see....

Thai's Australia office have tweeted/facebook'ed today that ALL flights will be mileage earning starting tomorrow. Yet to see if it is 100% or something less. It's a great decision regardless

That would be great news if they change V and W fares to earn 100% miles.

Assuming that somewhere within the Thai system is somebody with a degree in business administration ( pure speculation ) it might have occured to them that such a decision has financial consequences of horrifying dimension . And would therefore have to lead to higher prices . But maybe they just take the Land Of Smiles motto serious .

25% is still better than SQ - 10% for their cheapest fares!

New and special with THAI in June, purchase a discounted Economy Class ticket in V or W class to any international destinations and earn 25% of miles flown. Book today!

Above is the full message in THAI official line account. My understanding is only tickets purchased in June will get 25% of miles in V and W.

Hope I misunderstood.
