smileys dont seem to be displaying right now.

earlier javascript was briefly not working.

very odd, never seen this kind of stuff before.

seem to recall another thing or two that i cant remember.

MatthewLAX Feb 10, 2009 4:49 pm

My smileys are not appearing either.

Also, I cannot use the Quick Reply feature in most threads (but I can in some like this one).

Jenbel Feb 10, 2009 5:09 pm

I can't use quick reply in this thread and smilies are also broken
:td::(^:):confused::eek::mad::rolleyes::cool::p;)@ :-):D:-::o

cblaisd Feb 10, 2009 5:24 pm

Another "up"grade? :(

Jenbel Feb 10, 2009 5:26 pm

Smilies back and so is quick reply...

Bobster Feb 10, 2009 5:52 pm

No. They are not back. The OP is presumably talking about icons that appear on the forum index pages.

For example, this one is missing right now: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/forum...cons/icon5.gif

On the index page, it displays as: X question

edit to add: The situation is changing from one second to the next. They appear and then disappear again.

edit to add: The links to the gifs are changing. The question mark is now: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/images/icons/icon5.gif

That one is working. The first link that I posted was not, because the URL had contained "/forum/forum/" by mistake instead of just "/forum/" which is correct.

The smiles in your post and cblaisd's are just showing as a red "x" for me... not seeing them.

Bobster Feb 10, 2009 6:16 pm

Yes, I'm getting red X's in Jenbel's post.

The first URL is: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsdown.gif

edit to add:

Now working again, and the URL is :http://www.flyertalk.com/thumbsdown.gif

Notice that the 2 URLs I just posted are different. The URLs changed from when I first posted and did the "edit to add."

So right now, it's the URLs with "/forum/" in them that don't work, and ones that don't contain "/forum/" do work.

Bobster Feb 10, 2009 6:31 pm

Smilies gone again.

Links changed back to bad format with "/forum/" in them.

Oops. Now they are working again. STOP IT!!!!

GoingAway Feb 10, 2009 8:12 pm

This is just messed up!! ... Hope this "upgrade" or whatever tomorrow night fixes some of the problems we've been experiencing.

MatthewLAX Feb 10, 2009 8:33 pm

:( = X

goalie Feb 10, 2009 8:36 pm

smiley and other assorted emoticons along with the icon that one can attach to new thread or their own post are all phuglied :(

edited to add: and it appears to be hit an miss as smileys and etc in this thread (and others) were all phuglied when i was typing my reply but when i posted my reply all was well

Bobster Feb 10, 2009 10:09 pm

Some forum indexes have plain text where the attached smilies are supposed to go, but they keep flip flopping back and forth between text and smilies. You see the word "Question" and then you see a question mark. And just when you think the problem is fixed it goes back to "Question" again.

edit:

It's not plain text. It's a gif with an image of text.

Sample: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/forum...cons/icon8.gif

Except, course, the sample doesn't work after I post the link here because it just flip flopped agan.

.

Still alternating smilies and "x." Don't you just hate a moody website? :) ;) :D :p

wharvey Feb 11, 2009 11:27 am

Smiles and "x" are still occurring off and on.

In addition, the quick quote is not always working either.
