edited to add: and it appears to be hit an miss as smileys and etc in this thread (and others) were all phuglied when i was typing my reply but when i posted my reply all was well

and the above (minus "my edited add") is still happening but the icons associated with threads is not happening in every thread. for example...united mp, travelbuzz & omni/pr no icons but hiltonhonors, newsstand, travel safety & security and omni all have icons

The regularity with which the smilies are appearing and disappearing suggests that some type of automatic program is running amok.

Still no smileys & also can't do quick reply, although I can reply if I use the quote feature. Ironically enough, the quick reply worked on this post.

Still changing from minute to minute.

The URLs for the smilies change. Sometimes they point to a valid location, sometimes not. Sometimes they point to GIFs that have images of text instead of smilies.

Strings such as "/forum/" or "/forum/forum/" or "/icons/" appear in the URLs and then disappear from the URLs, seemingly at random.

Wish they would spend some of the money they make from advertising and subs on improving this sites reliability. It really has gone on far too long. :td:

Search facility is causing me problems now.

If they can't fix the bad URLs in the web pages, they could at least create directories corresponding to the bad URLs to make the URLs valid.

For example, this directory is referenced in some of the bad URLs:

/forum/forum/images/icons/

Just create that directory, dump in the GIFs, and it's fixed.

they could do it easier than that with symlinks or htaccess....
