Another day and I'm still getting the download file message. Fortunately the forum jump at the bottom of the page still works (and this includes access to myFT for those still having problems accessing that).

All the forum links should be working now and not forwarding to the non-existant flyertalk.com/forums/whatever.

FlightConnect seems to be still broken.

Nope. I still can't get to trip reports or community for example. Earlier I was able to use forum jump to navigate but I get the download file message when I use that now :(

Clear your cache and you should be ok.

This worked for me. My firefox just updated yesterday and I kept thinking it was an FF issue since my IE could get in (and I never use that).

I found this thread, cleared cache, and immediately was able to "New Posts" again!

I still get the download file issue with Google Chrome (MS IE works okay) ... is Google Chrome officially not a supported browser now?

Google Chrome is now working fine for me. Go into Tools and select Clear Browing Data.
