Hmmm..... I can't access anything under Miles and Points and just get put straight back to the forum home page. I've cleared my Private Data (all of it in Firefox) a couple of times now but no joy.

Look down at the bottom of this screen and find the "Forum Jump" drop down, scroll up(if in this forum) and go to the subforum you want.

It is a crazy way to do it but enjoy the faster posting due to less traffic!

Go to New Posts. Scroll down until you find a posting in the airline forum you are trying to get to. Click on the forum (right hand side) rather than the posting. That will take you there. Rather like going back to an IBM Selectric. :D

I'm wondering if the disabled hyper-links are intentional to keep users out of certain areas during maintenance and that by bypassing this with the tricks posted here we'r mucking things up even more?

I'm guessing if they really needed users out they'd block us out completely but hey, who knows at this point. Did anyone see anything announced about scheduled maintenance at this time?

Nobody missed anything because there's none. :td:

I pretty much have given up the "expectation" that IB or admin will tell FTers any scheduled "improvement" beforehand.

Haven't you learned they just want to surprise us? Remember the recent FT "upgrade" around 10/20/08? Remember the FT screen downsized on 10/29/08? Now think about all the FT wierdness starting Wednesday evening.

See the pattern? :p

Many thanks for that. Do you know if FT perhaps as any cunning plans to fix these issues? I know they all work for Mega Corp these days. Do they still listen to the little people?

This improvement is that in OMNI, Flyertalk handles are being replaced with the member's full name, address, telephone number, and e-mail address. Normal service will be restored once Google has had a chance to archive all those posts. Should be done shortly after Christmas.

i'll add "this bit of weirdness" here rather than start a new thread.....

when using both safari and firefox today, after i make a post, the page with my new post shows the first post at the top of that page as opposed to the bottom of the page where my new post is. had to scroll down to make sure my post took.

MatthewLAX Dec 12, 2008 9:58 am

Why were changes made? What was wrong with FT that necessitated these changes?

sdm1130 Dec 12, 2008 10:07 am

The "Mark this forum read" feature is also broken.

Yes, I noticed that too.

The motto seems to be: "If it ain't broke, we'll fix it. REAL good."

IB Kunal, thank you seems someone at IB finally realized the problem....maybe it was my mail to Randy, or a mass of mail to Randy from everyone, who knows!
