Search for "Hudson" this morning retrieves nothing about the emergency landing into the Hudson river.

"My posts" search snapped back up to date earlier this week, but now, again, fails to see anything in past 48 hours. Chronic problem obviously.

It seems the search index is at least 1.5 days behind. The latest shown in "My Posts" is from noon on 1/14/09.

Why does it happen so frequently??

lin821,

I can get results for today from search. Is this only occurring within your "My Posts" section? For example, if some of your posts are missing, and you search by a word that is in one of those posts, do you get results? I just want to get as much info as I can before I take this to the search team.

Neither worked for me.

1. When using Quick Links< My Posts:
The latest post was dated 1/14/08 11:47 CST. I did have a couple of more in the last two days. None showed up.

2. I knew I made posts yesterday:
Using Search drop-down menu at the top
> Advance Search
> Key words & my user name
> Show result as Posts

Nothing found to match your search request

Reason: Your search terms were not found
As far as I can tell, Search hasn't indexed since noon 1/14/09. Why is the indexes out of sync so often? What's the problem?

Kiwi Flyer Jan 16, 2009 1:46 pm

I get the same result using standard search. Nothing since early on 14 January is returned.

BearX220 Jan 20, 2009 12:57 pm

Working fine now as of 19 Jan PM.

Ok, thanks for reporting...

Anyone else experiencing this?

Kiwi Flyer Feb 7, 2009 3:12 pm

Yes. If search doesn't find anything it just gives a blank screen now :(

Also can we please have back the option to find near matches on username and then click on the one we want? It is annoying to have to try multiple permutations of spellings to try and find someone's posts.

Dovster Feb 7, 2009 3:34 pm

Not only has search been down for several hours but if I click on "Find more posts by _____" nothing comes up.

Maybe I politely ask how difficult it is to have a functional search with current indexes for Internet Brands? :(

I absolutely understand your frustration on this and all i can say is that the tech team is working hard on getting search back up and more stable with a solid monitoring system. I really do apologize for the frustration.

What I see when I ask to see my posts:

Now is 11:15 pm CST. The empty search problem seems to be fixed. At least I can see "My Posts" for now. Not sure how soon the next "empty" episode will be played though. ;)

Is FT still going through the "growing pain" from the server upgrade? The empty search problems had happened twice during the 1st week of Feb 2009.

Part of the frustration (at least for me) is that when search changed and we lost quite a lot of functionality we were told it was needed to make search more stable. Experience since then has disappointed - we have neither stability nor the functionality that we used to use.

I have a lot of FAQ threads that are hopelessly out of date due to search problems, and I am discouraged from starting any new ones.
