No doubt the IT people are aware of this already, but web1.flyertalk.com went down about 20 (or so) hours ago, and seems still to be down. No real problems at the moment, though, as www.flyertalk.com and web2.flyertalk.com are both working fine.

Ah, that's what happened. I have two machines, side by side. One reached FT, one did not. I rebooted machine A and now they both hit web2, but I didn't know what was going on until now.

I too have been having major problems logging on to FT. I can log on through web2 but the pages do not load properly and when they do they are incomplete and totally scattered. This has been happening for almost 24 hours. I deleted my cookies and the only why I can get on at all now is when I do a system restore . IE works fine on every other site. Any ideas as how to fix this? Also the graphics and images do not display. The top menu bar on FT also has a box with an 'x' in it around every forum link as they only highlite when I mouse over. I get this message, "The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings. "

Problem started again..same issue

Interesting that this seems to be a browser-specific problem, at least from the way it reacts on my end.

Using OS X 10.3.9 on a Mac, everything loads fine with Firefox. Using Safari on the same machine, flyertalk.com, www.flyertalk.com and web1.flyertalk.com don't load at all. web2.flyertalk.com loads, but all the gif images it retrieves from the main URL refuse to load (there were about 30 errors opening the page).

Same for me the last 15 hours, but intermittently.

Interestingly, the symptoms are still exactly the same for me as when I posted originally.

web1.flyertalk.com does not work.

But www.flyertalk.com, web2.flyertalk.com and flyertalk.com all work for me.

Is this a DNS propagation thing, perhaps?

seeing the same symptoms (no images, just text, sometimes no connection at all). i don't find it to be a browser issue as much as a routing issue. lots of loss for me at hop 9.
