Not working for me today in UA and Star-Alliance forums.

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/site/flyertalk.com/www/forum/includes/init.php on line 24

Perhaps this is related to the general FT current problems rather than being search specific.

A status page for the site would truly be a useful thing.

This sounds like it was related to problems we were having with the site at the time. You shouldn't have a problem now.

search not working in United, but working fine in BA

just me ??

Search is working for me in the UA forum, but not in the AA forum.

Strange... the search tool is not working for me in United or AA now.

Search is working fine from everything I can see now. There were some heavy searches being run at the time slowing the search server down for everyone.

KimmyAA Nov 29, 2005 2:55 pm

I have been unable to do any searches today. Trying to search the AA forum and getting:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/site/flyertalk.com/www/forum/search.php on line 980

Is there a known problem?

Thanks.

Search by user is not finding all posts. I tried a couple of users and didn't get any recent results. I tried searching all my posts for the last 3 months, and only two showed up. It looks like maybe recent posts are not being displayed.

djk7: I just did a search for all posts by you and have found alot of them including this one and one newer posted this morning... are you sure that you are using the advanced search and entering the username in the username field rather than in the search field?

KimmyAA: This error can happen when a search term is too broad and the script takes too long to try and build a results page, if you get this error the best way to alleviate it to give more specific search terms or narrow down your search to a particular forum or forums.

Sorry about that, it seems my search preferences were to only show threads with at least 40 posts. I have saved my settings with a more reasonable number, and hopefully won't run into that again.
