Just an observation, but I don't see that this new navigation tool does anything differently than the previous non-descript blue banner did... aside from take up a bit better than one-third of the screen, that is.

Thanks, looks much nicer ;)

On mine, the top banner is taking up fully half of the web page area. It would be great to get this reduced.

Edited to add: on a different computer, the banner area is taking up 60-70% of the website portion of screen, such that I can't even see the top thread without scrolling. And just to be clear, I am not referring to the blue backgrounded area with the logo "The world's most popular . . ." but to the area immediately below that which includes the "Jump to Forums" link.

Yes, my eyes are good so I set my screen resolution small. I never stopped to think how it must look on others' screens.

FWIW, and I doubt it's much, I see little benefit to the change and accordingly give it a healthy :td: :td:

Could you please place the FT general navigation bar at the bottom because combined with the top banner, it takes almost 50% of the screen height.

Or, perhaps, make it an option -- I know that vBulletin supports multiple skins, so that each user can select a skin of his/her choosing in user options...

Those smileys drove me nuts!

Us lucky folks in OZ still get those irritiating smileys. Top AND at RH side of the screen. The side ones never went away here although I note some of you above report they did for you.

Yes looks cluttered - and WHY unobtrsuutve litlte rectangular navigation tabs would not suffice sure beats me.

What's with the 15 year old Olive Oil and Popeye line drawings anyway? Looks ridiculous and ameteurish, apart from taking up a ton of un-necessary depth in the viewing window.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but can anyone explain why the too small for my aging eyes FT fonts are fixed?

I understand the part about ads but I subscribe to FT premium and don't see the ads anyway. My fix is Avant Browser which has a built in page magnifier. When I view other sites it and forget to go back to 100% magnification it messed up the other sites.

Jim
