CSS file coming and going

I am intermittently seeing 404 errors for the stylesheet (css). Are you guys editing it or it something else happening? The site looks really bad without it.

Same thing here..

Looks strange, but it's loads really fast!!

ScottC Apr 3, 2004 12:09 pm

Same here. No CSS file loading at the moment...

CrazyOne Apr 3, 2004 12:15 pm

Not 404 errors directly (in fact I didn't get one when I clicked on your link), but I'm definitely intermittently seing the style change. For the past 10 mintues I've been browsing FT without the boxes around the posts and with different text styling than normal. It also makes those quick dropdown menus hard to use because the backgrounds are missing!

Heh, it must have been missing until just before I read this thread. Because after I posted this the thread came up with the normal appearance.

Not coming and going for me, just gone.

It's been consistently out for me since this morning. Go figure. It's certainly nice that the site is faster now, but I think that's due to database performance improvements - the CSS file is small, and a smart browser only needs to load it once and then keeps it cached.

I acutally like it better now.. much cleaner. :)

PremEx Apr 3, 2004 2:58 pm

Is this what we're talking about?

yeah.. appears to be fixed now..

geckoflyer Apr 3, 2004 9:38 pm

problem not resolved

I am still experiencing this issue. I have cleared my cache & tried again... but still no nice text.

Clearing your cache won't work. Indeed, that'll just ensure that you have no chance of getting an old copy of the file. It's coming and going all over the place.

Yes, PremEx, that's exactly how it appears to me too. And it is still very slow.

Happening again

No formatting this morning. :(

Happens to me, but I consider myself lucky if just the text loads and it don't time out.

This shouldn't be an issue any more.

Rack it up to our inexperience with mirrored web servers.

Speed -- we are still working on. :(
