Please report: random database error events
|
|
I had a couple of these Saturday.
I’ve notified the IT Manager so they can check it out. It’s Sunday in Los Angeles, so it may be we’ll have some of these until Monday, but they’re aware of the issue and are likely checking on it now. thanks for your notice and the screen shot. JDiver, Co-Moderator |
Still getting a few 3:50 Eastern Time. Note that if I retry the same link it always works. Southwest Forum.
|
Has anyone received these in the last 12-18hr? If so, how many? Any specific recurring threads?
EDIT: Also, if you get it, does refreshing the page fix it? |

Random database errors are back today - at least for me.
|
Anyone else experiencing them?
|
Just getting some today... If you refresh you can get through but they're cropping up again IBJoel JDiver

Same for me.
|
Still happening today? These seem to happen seemingly at random for a few hours, then resolve. Seem to be more common over the weekend.
|
No. I only received the msg on Saturday.
|
DB errors popping up tonight.
|
Same for me earlier. I would search for "New Posts". I would get the first page but when moving to the second page I would get a DB error. It is working ok right now.
|
I was receiving the error when Clicking the link to a thread from a notification email but had no issue when navigating directly to the thread.
|
Still occurring? I'm noticing that 99% of these always seem to occur after hours or on weekends. I'll ask about any differences those would have, but might be normal maintenance cycles.
|
No, working fine now.
|
FT unusable for me today.
Just one random DB or Cloudflare error after another. Seems to coincide with the implementation of the new header design, which, IMO sucks. It's hard to find things and it takes up nearly a third of the page on desktop. Also, when a page does finally load, the fonts and sizes are all wrong, random lines of text are in red, and the new larger header space is filled with just a dozen or so lines of code or a different database error. |
At the top of this page I see a DB error and no header so I don't think the DB likes the new header either!

Same! I also agree about the header.

Our tech team is currently working on the DB errors and font issues. Please report other problems here: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tech...nu-errors.html
What are you talking about? It doesn't take up anywhere near that amount of space. EDIT: I just checked. My screenshot was 755px tall, the menu is 85px, of about 11.25% of the height. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...98c768ee62.png I also personally don't like the new design, but those are two separate issues. |
I tried to like anrkitec's post and got "access denied".
I'm getting the multiple database errors, cloudflare errors and banner problems everyone else is getting. |
Multiple database errors (both preventing the loading of the page and specifically impacting the new banner).
Problem with the banner is that it scales up on zoom. FT fonts are small so I have to Zoom to 110 - 125% and the banner scales up with the zoom making it take up a fair amount of the page. Need either bigger font size at 100% or for the banner not to scale up when you zoom the page |

For me the solid blue banner, which I assume is supposed to be a drop-down, was "stuck", wouldn't go back up, thus taking up a good third of the screen.

Couldn't access FT for over an hour. Multiple db errors. Safari 14.1.1 MacBook Pro OS 11.4
|
All morning I was getting data base error and of course couldn't post that I was having the problem. Also the giant heading at the top which seems to have been resolved.

Ah understood. We rolled it back off of the forums, but if you go to the main/front page, is it still stuck "down" for you?
And I do understand that several people have probably been working hard on the redesign, and I am not trying to crap on their efforts. And more people may like the new design than don't, it just strikes me as a solution in search of a problem. |
Like others I got multiple DB errors for about an hour and basically couldn't use the site. What I saw of the redesign I thought looked pretty nice but didn't really have a chance to navigate around due to the problems.

Seems to work now - the drop-down feature, not the new design. ;)

Heavy database errors for the last hour or so.

Today's attempt to implement the new design does not appear to be working.
Lots of database and Cloudflare errors and the site is extremely slow - on the off-chance that a page actually loads. |

We didn't implement the design. We generally don't make changes right before weekends (especially long ones) and we aren't working on weekeneds.

Huh. I made that comment because when the errors were occurring, when I would hit reload, the new banner design would load for a second or two before reverting back to the error.

You guys are probably aware of this, but have been getting "fatal" PHP/stack-type errors all morning.
|
Have you gotten it in the past 30min?
