How to add links to posts?
Hi,
Sorry if I am on the wrong BB, just seemed like this would be the least likely to get flamed for my ignorance. I can't seem to figure out how to add a link to another FF BB in my posts. I'm guessing it has to do with the UBB explanation found to the left of a meesage on the "posting" page, but it's all Greek to me. Can someone please tell me where to find an explanation of how to post a message with a link in it (preferable with an example) or better yet post an explanation. Thanks guys Mike |
You can simply paste a URL in your message like:
http://www.nytimes.com or, the fancy way: [ URL=http://www.nytimes.com]TYPE YOUR TEXT HERE[/URL] Just remove the space between [ and URL above. |
I am going to use curly brackets rather then square ones so that you will be able to see how it is done. Just replace {} with []
{url=http://www.mylink.com}My Link{/url} For really long urls, it is best to use this method rather than just posting the link. ------------------ "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -- Ben Franklin [This message has been edited by tazi (edited 06-11-2003).] |

Thanks for answering so quickly. I think I've figured out the "how" of posting", but I don't understand how to get the URL of a specific topic elsewhere on the BB.
Thanks again Mike |
