Can't read any threads (FlyerTalk errors)
Today I've noticed a number cases when clicking to go to the precious or next thread in a forum leads to a nonsensical result in that it isn't the precious or next thread, even when sticky threads are taken into account and the situation cannot be explained by very recent posts affecting the new to old ordering of threads. For example, I can be reading a post from a few minutes ago, click to go to the previous or next thread in the forum, and FT takes me to some other thread where the latest post is several hours old. I noticed this on the DL forum persistently (but not consistently in that a few times FT got it right) over at least the last several hours.

The www.flyertalk.com page isn’t working

Can't read any threads
I haven't been able to read anything on Flyertalk for over an hour. I can see the thread titles but whenever I try to go into a thread, I get an error saying there is no data for this request. I've tried on both Chrome and Safari, one using a PC, the other my ipad.
|
Also can't read any threads
I can see available threads, but I get a blank page when I open them.
|
Can't read any threads either (mobile or web - any browser)

Cannot read any threads
I can see forums, I can enter any forum and see the list of threads and I can post (obviously!) but I can't ready any individual threads. It says "Safari cannot open this page as the network connection was lost".
I have logged out and logged back in but still the same. |

Network error trying to read threads
I can view a forum but if I try to read a thread on my desktop PC, I get Network Error (tcp_error) from my corporate network. If I try from my android phone I get ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE.
|
Server Hangup
I also can't read threads...just get a "Server Hangup" error.
|
If you are experiencing this error, please let us know what device and browser you are using.

Ibobi-your response to "Can't read any threads"
Since I can't read any threads, I can't read your response to all the threads (including mine) about not being able to read threads. If you put the response up as a new thread, at least we could read part of your response by hovering over the link and using the preview. As it is I have no way of seeing your response.
Sorry for starting a new thread, but obviously I can't reply to the now merged threads since I can't get in there to read it. |
i had it on windows 10 using chrome, but now its working again
|
And now it is working again.
|
Mine was Macbook on Safari and Android on Chrome but as with aidy it seems to be working again now (on both)
|
I just got this problem on firefox. I can see the threads but clicking any of them will get to an error page. So I went in and deleted all cookies related to flyertalk.com and now everything works just fine.
On firefox, go into options -> privacy -> remove individual cookies type in flyertalk and select all the ones with flyertalk in it.. and click remove selected. Exit browser, go back in and log back into the flyertalk forum. |
Looks like tech is reporting a temporary server error, and it's resolved.
Thanks for reporting, everyone! |
Happening again just now. Chrome on Android tablet.

I just PM'd you because it was happening again for me too, but once again it has cleared up. Actually now, it's happening intermittently. I can open some threads, but not others.
|
Now if I click on a thread (to the thread's first page), it works.
However, if I try to click on last new post icon, last post icon, thread page number (including "Last Page"), or try to skip pages, it brings up the ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE error. |
I'm getting this error intermittently on Chromebook:
ERROR The requested URL could not be retrieved While trying to retrieve the URL: [FT URL I'm trying to access] The following error was encountered: Zero Sized Reply Squid did not receive any data for this request. Happening again to me now. Ipad using Safari.

I can't see anything so I am hoping this isn't double posted. This is what I get when I try to read a thread. |

Reported again.

Happening now constantly on OMNI threads. Different server?

Thread issues have returned (Android, Google Chrome)
Inability to open threads has come back at least on my Android (Galaxy S7 Edge, running on Chrome)
|
"Connection was reset" error on Firefox, all "last pages" I've tried to load.
|
Yes we are aware of the issue, tech is working to resolve it thank you.
|
I had errors intermittently today on Chrome for Windows, as well as Chrome on Android.
|
I had several database errors occur during some attempts at merging, moving threads. Intermittent, no common precursor I could identify.
|
Flyertalk down
Flyertalk was down before and I got following error message:
Error: Class 'vB_Cache_Memcache' not found in ..../includes/class_cache.php on line 236 |
Got the same error here a few minutes ago on Chrome for Windows; couldn't get to any FT page.
|
More intermittent reset problems for me - mostly when clicking on threads. Currently on Macbook using FireFox
|
It's happening again. On a windows PC running Chrome.
|
Me too. Windows & Firefox & Chrome.
|
Ditto for me using anything from iPhone to Windows XP & Firefox. Seems like a thread either works, or it doesn't and reports the connection was reset. Longer threads or threads with merge activity (which seems like the large majority of threads in the aadvantage forum) seem more likely to exhibit the issue.
|
In Chrome I am getting ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE when displaying many threads. Not on everyone, just on some.
On those threads that return the error in Chrome, I am getting "This page cant be displayed" in IE11. |
If I click to read the first post on a thread, I can usually get into the thread and read the thread (no matter the length of the thread). Once in the thread, if I use the arrows to go to the next page, it works, if I click to go to a specific page or click to go to the last page, I get the error.
If I click the view last post link to open the thread, I automatically get the error (no matter the length of the thread). |
And it's happening yet again.
