I have just completed a hotel review but I can't submit it. Button is greyed!

And it's for a property that, while bookable on the Marriott website, does not earn points or allow you to redeem points.

But it was pretty ridiculous to see a review from 12 years ago listed

Cheers.

On a similar point I was about to make - didn't want to on the thread - but I read this review - which is at least 8 years old:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/exper...-amanjiwo.html

I know this as Gabriella sold Losari in 2006 - and it's now become MesaStila.

That was about the last time I visited Amanjiwo - but god knows how much of this has changed, or how much of the rest of the information is out of date?

Begs the question - just why?? You should date the reviews, or only include fresh ones as some information will be very misleading.

Did you select "recommend/not"?

was this merge and move intentional?

I'm guessing not, but I'll look into it.

Agree. Combing through threads & posting reviews that are 7-12 years old is just silly. Certainly doesn't lend credence to the reviews.

Cheers.

Is it just me our is this new hotel review feature way too graphic and slick and not very intuitive. I can upload the map...surf to my destination and see that there is a review available. The second I move my curser from the little map point to the box with the hotel...the box disappears. What am I doing wrong? I can't navigate to the actual review.....

No need to click into that box -- just click the map point, and a short synopsis of the hotel will pop up. Then you can click the hotel name, or click "view hotel".

I clicked on a review that was listed at the top of a thread in the Marriott forum & it took me to where the review was in the thread - but the type, display, etc, was totally different from other posts in the thread (probably the FT/IB template) & was actually very disruptive to reading through the thread since posts above/below it were in normal FT display mode.

Cheers.

Can you link to it so I can see? Sounds like as-designed (yes, the new post type looks different).

the problem is that the imported reviews had their dates changed to date of import

Kagehitokiri Nov 12, 2015 2:33 pm

that is true for all imported reviews isnt it? because the posts were created for import to go into.

originally import linked original thread, if people clicked through they could see original date

i presume youre differentiating between imported "review" and source thread

originally, the source report thread was linked in the imported "review"

Ah yes that's right -- although still, there are original reviews in the Expert Reviews forum (those that are created from the Map page).

Do you have a link to an imported review with a new date?

Kagehitokiri Nov 12, 2015 4:55 pm

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/exper...l-reviews-734/
all reviews were imported, except for six after april 28th

one of those six was a '2nd take' > http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/exper...-hualalai.html
of > http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/exper...ai-report.html (1st review done, by admin)

Many moons ago, we had no tool to convert existing reviews. What we did instead was copy and post them again as new review post type, under the original poster's name but with the conversion date.

Now we have a tool that converts them, and retains the name and date.

So the ones you see with "new" dates are from the old process.
