"No" thread in Omni

What's up with it? The "Topic Starter" and "Replies" are blacked out and the "Last Post" is weird.

but it's now loading without the massive delays of past weeks!

chexfan Jan 22, 2002 2:03 pm

Yea it is! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

doc Jan 22, 2002 2:13 pm

If one is evil, then they will see only "no"! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

dan at WebFlyer Jan 23, 2002 11:15 am

Stray (and corrupted) file...

I'll get it out of there shortly. Thanks for the notice.

UPDATE: I reindexed the OMNI forum, which seems to have removed that "post"... Let me know if it pops up again.

It's Baaaack!

fireflyreaction Jan 30, 2002 7:13 pm

this is the first time in two months that i've come into OMNI..i got scared..."no"

EEK

blairvanhorn Jan 31, 2002 12:20 am

Yes, it's back, and Omni is blazing fast again just like the last time our friend "No" rode into town.

Yes on No!

doc Jan 31, 2002 7:23 am

FWIW, another partly corrupt file at:

Spider Feb 1, 2002 7:16 am

Can someone get rid of "NO" thread please?

I believe it was posted by Britney Spears. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

What part of "No" don't you understand? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I'll go look for that NO post again and remove it, again. Don't know what's causing it, but it could be how we have OMNI stretched over all our Forums that is causing an unexpected side-effect.

Carioca Canuck Feb 7, 2002 9:38 am

Actually....with the NO thread in place....OMNI loaded faster...like normal almost. Now that it's gone it is slow again.

svpii Feb 7, 2002 10:01 am

FWIW - I can't open OMNI at all right now..

blairvanhorn Feb 10, 2002 10:08 am

"No" has been back for a few hours now and OMNI is very fast.

kanebear Feb 10, 2002 10:20 am

IMHO leave the NO post alone if it doesn't cause other problems. When it's there Omni is BLAZING. When it's not, Omni has delays.

ScottC Feb 10, 2002 12:15 pm

Very strange but true... Omni is finally back to normal again... I think NO means NOT to remove http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

dan at WebFlyer Feb 11, 2002 10:57 am

If it means that OMNI will allow posts with the "No" thread there, then I'm all for leaving it in.

ScottC Feb 12, 2002 12:05 pm

"NO" is gone and once more OMNI is very slow http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

bring back NO http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

MatthewClement Feb 12, 2002 12:10 pm

At 1308 Central, it would appear that OMNI isn't loading at all. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

svpii Feb 12, 2002 12:25 pm

grinding here too - put it back!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

More than grinding now - stalling out completely.. can't get into Omni at all.

Yes -- we want NO! back.

Got to 1000 posts, one meaningless post at a time.

chexfan Feb 12, 2002 3:55 pm

That NO thread definitely speeds up OMNI. Wow!

dan at WebFlyer Feb 12, 2002 4:59 pm

Sorry about that. Randy had one of us remove it before I could let him know about the side effects...

But, if it behaves as it has, it should be back soon...

svpii Feb 12, 2002 5:05 pm

You're messing w/ us aren't you?? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

First it's timing out, then it's blazing, then it's timing out.. we say put it back, then you take it off.. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

doc Feb 12, 2002 8:32 pm

Though I have not had this problem before, I too am timing out in OMNI this evening!

Can anyone get on OMNI?

svpii Feb 13, 2002 3:00 pm

I could earlier - but not now... *sigh*

I'm getting on it about 1/3 of the time.

We like NO

markbach Feb 21, 2002 1:11 pm

say yes to no!

doc Feb 21, 2002 1:38 pm

FWIW, whether it's there or not - there's absolutely no apparent difference to me!

moondog Mar 6, 2002 3:47 pm

FWIW, "No" is gone today and OMNI is painfully slow for me.

dan at WebFlyer Mar 6, 2002 4:09 pm

We didn't deliberately remove it, honest http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

We've been rebuilding the threads to make sure the new FT Main Forum links show up on all the old ones... that _may_ have caused the corrupted "No" thread to die.

doc Mar 6, 2002 6:15 pm

Fine for me, FWIW, and I love the new look with all the links too! Thanks! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Yea, yea.. I have visions of you guys sitting around an office pool for how fast and how many of us respond when you take the "no" thread out... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

moondog Mar 15, 2002 6:19 pm

I'm starting to feel like a broken record, but "no" is gone once again and my access to OMNI has slowed considerably (although I can still get in, which is an improvement over previous episodes).
