real time posts - again

My Netscape (4.61) was working fine until yesterday, when I started to have to refresh the page after posting a reply...

Ive tried everything, from resting the cookies on the preferences, clearing the cache options twice, and my setting (as it worked before) has cache comparing once per session, etc. Im not going through a proxy either....

Any ideas?

I've had a lot of problems using Netscape to read FlyerTalk. It would "hang" after I had read a number of messages. I tried all the strategies you suggested. The only thing that helped would be to reboot the computer. Back on-line, I'd be able to read fewer and fewer messages before it happened again.

I switched to Internet Explorer two weeks ago, and have had no repetition of the problem since.

The reliability of my Netscape 4.5 went up dramatically when I shut off JavaScript (Edit menu, Preferences, Advanced). Apparently some of the ads use it in a non-standard way that IE tolerates better than Netscape.

The only downside, aside from turning it on and off, is that I have to enter my username and password for each post rather than just the first time.

Thanks for the feedback. The strange thing is my case is that until this began, my Netscape was behaving perfectly... and I have not made any recent configuration changes. Are any of you using the new Netscape 6.0 ??
